Telescopes is a sound art installation consisting of pipes, speakers and microphones. It creates a continous, self-regulating ambiance through several feedback loops. The feedback loops interact and interfere with each other and their surroundings. Therefore, the room and the acoustics around the installation shape the behaviour of the system. Through careful fine tuning, the system is pushed into a maximum dynamic instability to achieve a behaviour that is sensitive to small changes. This installation is an exploration into the complex, musical world of audio feedback. My written thesis on this can be found here. Below you will find recordings of various performances with the installation, either played alone or in tandem with other instruments.
